This natural yeast is used to make natural yeast bread. I keep adding apple every other day to ferment and increase the amount of yeast (left). Flour is added to some of the previous liquid and fermented some more(right). Once it is ready, add a flour of your choice, knead and bake in the oven to make natural yeast bread! I made organic brown rice mochi! Keep the sweet rice in water for a day and put it in the mochi maker. Bake it in the oven-toaster , put soy sauce on it and wrap it with seaweed. Smells good!
Brown rice balls. I mixed the brown rice with beans and cooked it in the pressure cooker and put sesame seeds and seaweed. On the side is pickled celery. Make sure to chew many times while eating brown rice!
My mother in Japan made dried daikon radish (kiriboshi daikon). 'Kiriboshi daikon' is made by thinly cutting the daikon and drying them under the sun. It is one of the traditional ways to preserve daikon. She had prepared them while daikon's were in season so I can bring back and enjoy them back in Vancouver.
