Beans from our backyard garden. I steamed the beans then added grinded black sesame seeds, walnuts, miso and a little maple syrup.

Sweet potato gyoza

Sweet potato gyoza! Steam then mash the sweet potato, then wrap the gyoza in the skin. Bake it in the oven until golden then sprinkle some sugar, cinammon, or maple syrup if you like! It's a great little snack!

'Obon' is a time to welcome back the souls of our ancestors! The cucumber horse is made to quickly pick up the ancestors and the eggplant cow is to take them back slowly enjoying the ride. These were both made by my grandkids to pick up their grandpa and greatgrandpa!
